How does Chiropractic Care help?
Pain and malfunction throughout the body can often be attributed to misalignments in the spine. When these misalignments affect the information flow and function of a nerve this is called a subluxation.
Over time these subluxations diminish the health of the affected nerve and the muscles and functions associated with that nerve. You or I might experience this process as stiff and tight muscles, ‘knots’, fatigue, tingling, burning sensations or even loss of strength or balance.
These things may seem minor at first but often get worse over time. These misalignments are causing joints and cartilage to deteriorate more quickly and increasing the possibility of bulging/herniated discs, bone spurs, arthritis and even spinal fusion.
Chiropractic addresses all facets of this problem. By removing the stress and pressure from the nerve we can slow and even stop the accelerated deterioration. Once the nerve has been addressed the symptoms of pain, discomfort and malfunction are greatly reduced or .
Our primary goal is eliminating your pain and increasing your ability to enjoy an active lifestyle.
At GreenLife Wellness we practice The Gonstead System of Chiropractic. This system of chiropractic uses in-depth analysis of the patient’s structure and symptoms to identify the specific vertebra causing the trouble. This vertebrae is then adjusted with a precise angle and force creating a unique adjustment for each individual. Adjusting in such an individual and specific way allows GreenLife Wellness to achieve a higher level of results in a shorter period of time.
Chiropractic CarePain throughout the body can often be attributed to abnormalities in the spine – most common among these are called subluxations. We pride ourselves in practicing the Gonstead Method which is a specialized focus on inflammation and subluxations in the spine. Through this method, we’re able to focus on the areas of the spine causing your discomfort or pain and strategically adjust your spine to decrease inflammation, subluxations, and ultimately your pain!
Exercise Therapy / Functional Movement
Functional Movement is the name given to the movement patterns created as you go through your daily activities. In other words, as we grow and learn to crawl, walk, run, bend and reach our bodies develop movement patterns to guide each movement. This process is designed to make performing everyday actions easier and more efficient for your brain and body. We’ve all heard the phrase “Muscle Memory”, most often referenced by riding a bike. It’s something you don’t have to think about, you just do it.
As we age we encounter things like growth spurts, injuries, and structural changes which change the way your body uses its muscles and joints. All of those changing conditions require that the body also change its movement patterns. Unfortunately, more often than not, these new movement patterns do their job of getting the action done, but they also compromise the health of the joint due to those untreated injuries and structural changes.
At GreenLife Wellness we understand that treating pain successfully also means preventing it from returning. We incorporate Functional Movement into our treatment plans to re-educate and strengthen your body. This helps to support the progress made through chiropractic care and prevent poor movement patterns from reinjuring the affected areas.
We probably don’t need to convince you that massage therapy can help you feel better. But massage can have a much deeper impact when combined with Chiropractic and Functional Movement. Chiropractic addresses the structure, Functional Movement addresses the movement patterns and Massage Therapy addresses the retention of that new information. Massage therapy sort of erases muscle memory. Creating a clean slate. By loosening muscles and removing trigger points (“knots”) massage therapy allows your muscles to more easily incorporate the new information being given to them.
In addition to providing physical benefits, massage therapy offers many physiological benefits as well. When received on a regular basis massage therapy can help lower levels of cortisol (the stress hormone), lower blood pressure in the hours and days following the treatment, increase endorphins (a natural painkiller), as well as help to aid in digestion, circulation and a general reduction in stress and tension.
Every massage is personalized for the individual. You and your therapist will discuss areas of treatment, pressure and style preference to provide the most enjoyable and effective massage at each session. Clients may remain clothed or undress to their level of comfort.
Regenerative Medicine is the use of the body’s own healing process to help restore and rebuild the tissue in a compromised or injured area of the body. The products we use are administered through a simple in-office injection by our trained Nurse Practitioner.
The injection typically includes growth factors, nutrients, hyaluronic acid and anti-inflammatory cytokines. The product stimulates the natural healing process, the anti-inflammatories help reduce pain and pressure and the growth factors create very potent conditions to accelerate the repair process.
When combined with our whole body treatment system regenerative medicine can restore mobility and freedom to an area that has been restricted and painful for years!
